Tragic Discovery in Muzaffarpur: Student's Body Found in Maize Field
In a distressing incident that has shocked the local community, the body of a 20-year-old girl was discovered in a maize field under the jurisdiction of the Sakra police station in Muzaffarpur district on Monday. The victim, who had been reported missing by her family, was found with her clothes torn and a dupatta tied around her neck, raising immediate suspicions of foul play.
Family Alleges Rape and Murder
The family of the deceased has strongly alleged that she was raped and murdered at a different location before her body was dumped in the field. According to police reports, locals first noticed the body and promptly alerted the authorities, leading to a swift response from law enforcement.

- The victim had left her home around 5 pm on Sunday and did not return, causing her family to report her missing.
- She was reportedly upset over her poor performance in the Bihar board Intermediate examination, which may have contributed to her emotional state prior to her disappearance.

Police Investigation Underway
Muzaffarpur East SDPO-2 Manoj Kumar Singh provided updates on the case, stating that the forensic team has collected samples from the spot to aid in the investigation. "Prima facie, it appears the woman was killed at some other place and the body was dumped in the maize field. A dupatta was found tied around her neck. The exact cause of death will be known after getting the autopsy report," he explained.
Singh further noted that the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem was completed. A formal complaint has been lodged, but no named accused have been identified so far. "Her family members said she had left home around 5 pm on Sunday but did not return. She was upset over her poor performance in the board examination. Her cellphone analysis is underway as part of the investigation," the SDPO added, highlighting the ongoing efforts to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
The case has drawn significant attention in the region, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading to the young student's death.
