Bijnor Court Denies Bail to Three Brothers for Attacking Former MP
Bijnor Court Denies Bail to Three Brothers in MP Attack Case

A court in Bijnor has denied bail to three brothers—Talib, Khalid, and Abid—who are accused of attacking former MP Bharatendra Singh. The decision was made by Additional District and Sessions Judge Alka Chaudhary after hearing arguments from both sides.

Prosecution's Case

The prosecution, led by Pankaj Chauhan, successfully argued against the brothers' release. Chauhan detailed how the men abused the former MP, issued death threats, and opened fire with the intent to kill. The state also highlighted a secondary attempt by the trio to snatch a carbine from a police guard during the altercation.

Incident Details

The incident took place on April 1, when an inspection team found a sawmill operating illegally despite being officially sealed. Singh arrived at the scene, triggering a violent outburst from the brothers. The defense claimed the charges were politically motivated, but the court deemed the offence “too grave for bail.”
