Woman Arrested for Alleged Murder of Husband with Lover's Help in Bijnor
In a shocking incident from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, a woman has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of her husband, with police stating she collaborated with her lover to commit the crime and then attempted to disguise it as a suicide by hanging the body from a ceiling fan. Authorities report that the lover remains at large, evading capture as the investigation unfolds.
Details of the Crime and Police Investigation
The tragic event occurred in Daranagar village, under the jurisdiction of the Gajraula police station, on Wednesday night. According to police reports, Ompal Singh, a 30-year-old farmer and daily wage laborer, discovered his wife, Kallo Devi, aged 28, in a compromising position with Bablu, also known as Dinesh Kumar, who is 27 years old. This confrontation led to a violent altercation.
Family members and villagers revealed that Kallo Devi had been involved in a long-standing relationship with Bablu, which Ompal strongly opposed. During the confrontation, Ompal allegedly forced his wife to beat Bablu with slippers, after which Bablu left the village but reportedly threatened Ompal with severe consequences.
Dhanaura circle officer Anjali Kataria provided details, stating that the accused strangled Ompal using a plastic rope and subsequently hung his body from a ceiling fan to create the appearance of a suicide. A postmortem examination confirmed that death resulted from strangulation, and police have recovered the rope used in the crime as evidence.
Legal Actions and Confession
Based on a complaint filed by Ompal's younger brother, Jogesh Kumar, a formal case was registered against both Kallo Devi and Bablu under section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Kallo Devi has confessed to her involvement in the murder and has been sent to jail under judicial custody. Meanwhile, Bablu remains at large, with police actively searching for him.
The couple, married for approximately 13 years, have three children together. Family members described Ompal as a hardworking individual who supported his family through farming and labor, adding a layer of tragedy to the case as the community grapples with the loss.
