Tension gripped the Pratap Basi area of Bikaner on Monday night after an alleged incident of sexual harassment escalated into a violent confrontation between two groups. The situation, which began around 11 PM, quickly spiraled out of control, leading to stone-pelting and physical assaults that created panic in the neighborhood.

According to eyewitness accounts, the trouble started when some youths allegedly misbehaved with a woman. When local residents objected to this behavior, a verbal altercation broke out, which soon turned violent. Members from both groups gathered at the spot armed with sticks and rods, and began pelting stones at each other, leading to a chaotic scene captured in a viral video showing people running through the locality with lathis.
Police from the Naya Shahar station rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the clash. SHO Rohit Choudhary stated that a heavy police force was deployed to bring the situation under control, with patrolling continuing throughout the night to prevent further violence. Additional police personnel have been stationed in the area as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

On Tuesday, police registered First Information Reports (FIRs) from both confronting groups. Bikaner SP Mridul Kachachawa confirmed that the situation is now under control and peaceful, with authorities committed to taking action against those who disturbed public order. "We have identified the miscreants from both groups and will make arrests soon in this case," SHO Choudhary added.
The incident has sparked significant local outrage, with a large number of residents gathering at the police station on Tuesday morning to demand the immediate arrest of the accused. Meanwhile, functionaries from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP also reached the police station, engaging in heated arguments with police officials about the handling of the case.
