A devastating road accident in South Goa has resulted in the death of a 26-year-old student from BITS Pilani and left another student seriously injured. The incident occurred on Saturday evening when their motorcycle collided with an oil tanker near a junction in the Zuari Nagar area.

According to police reports, the accident took place around 5:15 PM on Saturday at Upasnagar in South Goa. The oil tanker, driven by 66-year-old Pedro Ivo Medeira, was traveling from Upasnagar towards Vasco when the driver allegedly made a right turn to enter another lane without checking for oncoming traffic.
Karan Narasimha Murthy, who was riding the motorcycle from the BITS Pilani campus towards Verna, rammed into the rear left side of the tanker. Both Murthy and his friend, Soham Adhikari (26), who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries in the collision.

The two injured students were immediately rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. Tragically, Karan Narasimha Murthy succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His friend Soham Adhikari is currently undergoing medical care at the Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim, where his condition remains serious.
