Black Magic Suspicions Lead to Brutal Beheading in Madhya Pradesh Village
In a shocking and gruesome incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 50-year-old man was allegedly abducted and beheaded with an axe by his relative and an accomplice over suspicions of practicing black magic. The terrifying event occurred in Bisnapur village within the Kundam police station area of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, police confirmed on Friday.
Details of the Chilling Attack
According to police reports, the accused individuals, identified as Pitti Yadav, who is related to the victim, and his friend Madhu Shah, launched a brutal assault on Bhura Lal Yadav at his residence late on Tuesday night. The attackers allegedly verbally abused the victim before physically attacking him with sticks and an axe, accusing him of engaging in black magic practices.
When the victim's brother, Nanhelal Yadav, and his son, Suresh Yadav, rushed to intervene and stop the violence, the accused allegedly turned their aggression toward them as well. Both family members sustained significant injuries to their heads, faces, and in one case, an eye, during the confrontation.
Abduction and Murder
Police stated that after assaulting the family members, the accused forcibly took Bhura Lal Yadav away from the scene, threatening to kill him. Following this abduction, Nanhelal Yadav filed a formal complaint with the Kundam police station, prompting authorities to register a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Law enforcement immediately launched an intensive search operation to locate the missing man. During their investigation, police successfully tracked down and arrested both suspects, Pitti Yadav and Madhu Shah.
Confession and Motive
During interrogation, both accused individuals confessed to killing Bhura Lal Yadav, according to police officials. They admitted that their primary motive was their strong suspicion that the victim had been practicing black magic, which they believed justified their violent actions.
"We traced and arrested the two accused. During interrogation, they confessed to killing Bhura Lal, as they suspected him of practicing black magic," stated Satish Kumar Andhwan, the in-charge of Kundam police station, in his official statement to media outlets.
Broader Context of Violence in the Region
This horrifying incident occurred less than twenty-four hours after another disturbing crime in neighboring Damoh district, where a man reportedly killed a boy with a hammer before consuming his flesh and drinking his blood. The back-to-back violent episodes have raised serious concerns about law and order, as well as superstitious beliefs leading to extreme violence in certain rural areas of Madhya Pradesh.
Police authorities have emphasized that investigations are ongoing and that both accused individuals will face appropriate legal consequences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions. The case highlights the dangerous consequences of superstition and vigilante justice in communities where traditional beliefs sometimes override legal processes and human rights protections.
