In a grim discovery, the body of an unidentified man was found in the Eastern Yamuna canal in Baghpat district on Thursday evening, sending shockwaves through the local community. The victim, believed to be around 30 years old, was found with his throat slit, indicating a brutal murder.
Gruesome Discovery Near Kishanpur Baral Village
The body was located in the canal near Kishanpur Baral village in the Baghpat district. Police officials stated that the man's face was wrapped in a bedsheet, while the bedding itself was found floating nearby in the water. This chilling detail has become a central point in the ongoing investigation.
Police Investigation and Key Evidence
Speaking on the case, Baghpat SP Suraj Kumar Rai confirmed the violent nature of the crime. "There are marks on his neck indicating he was attacked with a sharp weapon," he said. Investigators are working on two primary theories: the man was either attacked while sleeping or was killed elsewhere and brought to the canal.
Critical evidence was found near the canal bridge, including:
- Fresh bloodstains.
- Recent tyre marks.
This evidence strongly suggests the killers used a vehicle to transport both the body and the heavy bedding to the dumping site. Police suspect the victim is from a nearby area and are making concerted efforts to establish his identity.
