Bomb Threat Emails Target 18 Uttar Pradesh District Courts, Security Heightened

District courts in at least 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh received bomb threat emails early Monday morning, leading to heightened security measures and intensive searches across court premises. Officials confirmed that the threats were sent via email in the early hours, warning of potential explosions inside the court complexes.

Affected Districts and Immediate Response

Among the districts that received the threats were Lucknow, Ayodhya, Moradabad, Azamgarh, Meerut, Amroha, and Varanasi, along with several others. Court authorities immediately alerted local police and administrative officials upon receiving the emails. Bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and local police teams conducted thorough searches of the court premises before regular proceedings began.

Entry and exit points were closely monitored, and litigants and lawyers underwent strict security screening to ensure safety. No suspicious objects have been recovered so far in any of the district courts, according to police statements.

Previous Incidents and Investigation

Officials noted that similar threat emails had been received two days earlier as well. On Friday, four district courts in the state had also received comparable bomb threats via email, raising concerns over a possible coordinated attempt to spread panic and disrupt judicial functioning.

Cyber crime teams are actively tracing the IP addresses and origins of the emails. The Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) is conducting a probe into the threat emails sent to the districts. Senior police officials at the DGP headquarters stated that they are monitoring the situation in all affected districts, with the cyber cell assisting the investigation alongside district police units and the ATS.

Ongoing Security Measures

The repeated bomb threats have prompted authorities to implement enhanced security protocols across court complexes in Uttar Pradesh. Police are working to identify the perpetrators and prevent future incidents, emphasizing the importance of maintaining judicial operations without disruption.
