Tragic Discovery in Samastipur: Missing Boy Found Dead

Police in Samastipur district made a grim discovery on Thursday. They found the body of a six-year-old boy who had been missing for four days. The child's remains were floating in a drain connected to the Margang river.

Location Close to Home

The drain sits approximately one hundred meters from the boy's residence in Tetarpur village. This village falls under the jurisdiction of the Mohiuddin Nagar police station. Authorities identified the deceased as Mohabbat Kumar. He was the son of Mukesh Paswan, a tiles mason by profession.

Family's Allegations and Police Response

The family had already filed a First Information Report before this tragic find. They accused neighbors of kidnapping their son. The complaint detailed threats and demands for extortion money.

Patori DSP B K Medhavi provided updates on the case. He confirmed the boy had been missing since January 11. Officers discovered no visible injury marks on the body. They sent it to the sadar hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"The investigation is being conducted from both murder and accident angles," stated DSP Medhavi. A forensic team visited the scene to collect samples. Police await the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death.

History of Threats and Dispute

The boy's mother filed a named FIR against several villagers. She alleged these individuals kidnapped her child. According to the complaint, an old dispute existed between the families.

The accused neighbors reportedly demanded fifty thousand rupees from the victim's family. They threatened to kidnap the child if the family refused to pay. The father, Mukesh Paswan, recounted the warnings.

"They were threatening. They said that we will pick up your child," he said. Paswan raised the matter in the local panchayat, but no action followed. His son disappeared around ten in the morning on January 11.

The family immediately filed a kidnapping complaint at their local police station. They searched extensively but could not locate the boy. Police are now investigating the case based on this formal complaint.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities suspect the murder may connect directly to the extortion dispute. DSP Medhavi confirmed that no arrests have been made so far. The investigation remains active as police pursue all leads.

This heartbreaking incident has shaken the Tetarpur village community. Residents await further developments as the police continue their work.
