Union Home and Cooperative Affairs Minister Amit Shah on Friday honored BSF Deputy Commandant Ravindra Rathore with a gallantry medal at the Border Security Force Investiture Ceremony and Rustamji Memorial Lecture programme held in New Delhi. Rathore, deployed at the Sriganganagar Sector of BSF Rajasthan Frontier, was recognized along with three other BSF personnel and officers for their exceptional bravery.
Gallantry Medal Award Ceremony
The gallantry medal was announced on the previous Independence Day. During the ceremony, Amit Shah presented the medals to the brave personnel for their valor in thwarting hostile activities from across the border.
Heroic Act at the Border
According to official BSF sources, in May last year, on the international border adjoining Sriganganagar in Rajasthan, Deputy Commandant Ravindra Rathore and his team displayed extraordinary courage. The team, comprising Inspector Devi Lal, Head Constable Sahib Singh, and Constable Kanwaraj Singh, risked their lives to foil Pakistan's attempts emanating from across the Pakistani border. Their swift and decisive action prevented potential threats and ensured the safety of the nation.
The BSF personnel demonstrated remarkable professionalism and dedication to duty, upholding the highest traditions of the force. The award recognizes their selfless service and unwavering commitment to protecting India's borders.
