Bulandshahr Horror: Woman Beheaded by Lover in Gruesome Murder Case
A chilling murder has sent shockwaves through Bulandshahr district, where a 38-year-old woman from Delhi was allegedly lured to a remote village and brutally beheaded by her lover and his accomplices, according to police authorities. The horrifying crime has exposed a tale of betrayal and violence that has left the community reeling.
Discovery of the Decomposed Torso
The gruesome incident first came to light on March 15, when local residents discovered a decomposed torso near a canal in a forested area of Ghunghrawali village. The discovery sparked an immediate and tense investigation, with police initially struggling to identify the victim due to the advanced state of decomposition and the absence of the head. Authorities performed the last rites on March 18 while continuing their desperate search for clues.
The Fatal Day and Brutal Execution
According to police reports, on that fateful day, the prime accused, Vikas Kumar, allegedly lured the victim, Babli Devi, to his native village in Bulandshahr. The two traveled together on a motorcycle, where Vikas was joined by his cousin Sachin and friend Aman Kumar. After consuming alcohol, the trio reportedly carried out their horrific plan.
Bulandshahr SP City, Shanker Prasad, detailed the brutality: "The three men grabbed Babli by her limbs, decapitated her with a sharp weapon, and then threw her head approximately 500 meters away in an attempt to conceal her identity completely."
Identification Breakthrough and Relationship Details
The investigation took a crucial turn on March 22 when Babli's family members in Delhi—including her mother, daughter, and brother-in-law—spotted her photograph posted by police on social media and confirmed her identity. This breakthrough allowed authorities to piece together the victim's background and her connection to the accused.
Police revealed that Vikas Kumar, a 32-year-old native of Bulandshahr, had been Babli's lover for approximately three years. The relationship began after Babli's husband died of cancer two-and-a-half years ago. Vikas had previously worked with Babli's late husband at a private hospital and was well-known to the family. The couple had lived together in Delhi following her husband's death.
The relationship reportedly began to unravel when Vikas decided to marry another woman in December 2025, while Babli allegedly continued pressuring him to maintain their relationship. This mounting tension appears to have been a key factor leading to the tragic outcome.
Deceptive Actions and Police Investigation
Following the murder, Vikas reportedly attended a family function in his village before returning to Muradnagar in Ghaziabad, where he had relocated after his marriage. In a calculated move to mislead authorities, he even lodged a "missing person" complaint regarding Babli's disappearance.
However, through meticulous surveillance and investigation, police confirmed Vikas's presence near the crime scene. The breakthrough led to his arrest in Muradnagar, while accomplice Aman Kumar was apprehended in Bulandshahr. Authorities have recovered the murder weapon, along with illegal firearms and the motorcycle used in the crime.
Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Manhunt
Both Vikas Kumar and Aman Kumar have confessed to their involvement in the murder during police interrogation. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of murder and disappearance of evidence. Police efforts are currently focused on apprehending the third suspect, Sachin, who remains at large.
