Bulldozer Demolishes Home of Teen Accused in Minor Sexual Abuse Case in Maharashtra
In a swift and dramatic move, authorities in Maharashtra's Amravati district deployed a bulldozer to demolish the family home of a 19-year-old accused of sexually abusing minor girls and recording the acts to blackmail them. The action occurred just 24 hours after the suspect's arrest, highlighting the intense public and official response to the heinous crimes.
Demolition and Police Action Unfold in Paratwada
Late Wednesday morning, a JCB bulldozer rolled into Paratwada town, targeting the residence of Ayan Ahmed near Jay Stambh Chowk. Police lined the roads to prevent any disturbances in this area, known for its history of communal tensions. Within 30 minutes, the machine tore down a metal staircase and a reinforced concrete landing attached to the ground-plus-one floor building.
Civic officials from Achalpur promptly pasted a notice on the property, demanding that the owners produce documents by April 20 to prove they had proper approvals for the construction. The notice explicitly warned that failure to appear for a hearing at 1 pm on that date would result in the assumption that the owners had no defense, potentially leading to further bulldozer action.
Details of the Sexual Abuse Case Emerge
Sources reveal that the key accused allegedly lured women, many of them minors, into relationships. He then sexually exploited them in a rented room, recording at least 100 videos. These recordings were later circulated, adding to the trauma of the victims. Police have identified eight survivors so far and are urging them to come forward to record their statements.
Amravati SP Vishal Anand emphasized the importance of survivor cooperation, stating, "We have contacted the survivors' families and requested them to give statements. That is why it's important for survivors to come forward and tell us what happened." Authorities are also investigating whether any victims are missing or if any suicides are linked to the case, which could lead to additional charges.
Police Investigation and Arrests Intensify
In response to the case, police have constituted a 47-member Special Investigation Team (SIT). So far, four individuals, including the main accused, have been arrested for their involvement in circulating the abusive videos. All four have been remanded in police custody until April 21, with sources indicating that two more suspects are likely to be apprehended soon.
Meanwhile, the cyber cell has taken proactive steps by shutting down several Telegram channels where the videos were being shared. This effort aims to curb the further spread of the abusive material and protect the identities of the minors involved.
