Burglar Loots Two Flats in Guwahati Colony

Residents of the Doordarshan Colony in Guwahati's Borbari area were left shaken after a burglar allegedly targeted two flats, looting valuables on Friday evening, police said.

Single Perpetrator Identified

During the investigation, police found that only a single person had carried out the entire burglary, according to an officer from Dispur Police Station. Officers did not reveal the items stolen, stating they were still assessing the extent of the loss.

First Incident Involves Minor

The first incident occurred at Block C-15 of the colony, where a minor was threatened. The child was alone at home during the incident. The person entered the house, pointed a dummy gun at the minor, and locked him in the bathroom. The boy immediately called his parents after the person left. Police have no knowledge of which items were stolen.

Second Incident at Block B-32

The second incident was reported from Block B-32 later the same night. One of the residents caught sight of the suspect fleeing and immediately informed police. Authorities are currently looking for the person.

CCTV Footage Provides Clues

While scanning CCTV footage, police obtained a glimpse of the suspected burglar. The individual was seen wearing a cap and scarf and carrying a bag.

Investigation Underway

Following the incident, a case has been registered at Dispur Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
