A businessman was brutally attacked by two masked men inside the busy China Town Market on Jail Road in Indore on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among traders in the area. The assailants allegedly struck him with an iron rod before stabbing him in the leg and fleeing the spot on a motorcycle.

Details of the Attack

The injured businessman, Anand Vishpute, a resident of Scheme 114, was rushed to MY Hospital by people present nearby. He sustained serious injuries to his head and leg. MG Road police confirmed that Anand runs a business dealing in fans and air conditioners and operates an office in China Town Market. He had reportedly reached the office in the morning and was using his mobile phone when the attackers arrived.

According to the police, one of the accused allegedly came from behind and hit Anand with an iron rod. As he tried to defend himself, he sustained injuries on his shoulder and head. Moments later, the second attacker stabbed him in the leg before both escaped from the market area.

Market Chaos and Investigation

The attack caused chaos in the market, with shopkeepers and traders gathering at the spot soon after hearing Anand scream for help. Police teams reached the scene and began scanning CCTV footage from nearby establishments. Investigators said the two suspects were seen arriving and leaving the area on a motorcycle. They are trying to identify the accused and ascertain the motive behind the attack.
