CBI Arrests Two DDA Employees in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended an assistant vigilance officer and a multi-tasking staff employee of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in connection with an alleged bribery case, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Details of the Arrest

The accused have been identified as Deepak Yadav and Tarun. Their arrest followed a complaint lodged by a former deputy director of the DDA. The complainant alleged that the two individuals demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh in exchange for sending a favorable reply to his parent department concerning an ongoing vigilance matter against him.

Negotiation and Trap

Investigators revealed that after negotiations, the accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs 3 lakh as illegal gratification. Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap on Monday. During the operation, Yadav was allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and accepting Rs 50,000 through the co-accused, Tarun. This amount reportedly represented the first instalment of the agreed-upon bribe.
