Chandigarh Laundry Worker Found Hanging Near PGI

A 21-year-old laundry worker was discovered hanging from a tree near the PGI laundry area in Chandigarh on Friday morning. Passersby noticed the body and immediately alerted the PGI police post. The police then transported the deceased to the GMSH-16 mortuary for an autopsy.

Victim Identified as Rajat

The deceased has been identified as Rajat, a native of Uttar Pradesh. He resided in Khudda Lahora with his wife and child, while his parents lived in Mohali. Preliminary investigations indicate that Rajat was under severe emotional distress due to ongoing financial disputes within the family.

Details of the Incident

Family members reported that Rajat had visited his parents on Thursday night and took a scarf when he left. Police believe this scarf was used as a makeshift noose. No suicide note was recovered at the scene.
