According to police reports, the incident took place around 6:40 PM on March 3, when a patrol team stopped Budh Ram for a security check in the Maloya area. During the frisking procedure, officers recovered a long knife from his possession, leading to immediate action.

The weapon was promptly seized, and a formal case under the Arms Act was registered against the accused. Following this, Budh Ram was remanded into judicial custody, as per standard legal protocols. Police authorities have also disclosed that a previous criminal case against him is already on record at the Maloya police station, indicating a history of legal issues.

Separate Assault Incident Registered in Dadumajra

In an unrelated but concerning development, the police have registered an assault case based on a complaint filed by 23-year-old Pradeep, a resident of Dadumajra. The complainant detailed that he, along with his brother Nitesh and some friends, were near the local dumping ground when they were confronted by four individuals.

The accused, identified as Bheema, Chhota, Kaka, and Rahul, allegedly blocked their path and proceeded to assault them. After the attack, the assailants fled the scene, prompting police intervention.

Arrest and Ongoing Investigation

In response to the assault complaint, police have arrested one of the accused, Rahul, on March 3. Authorities have revealed that Rahul is also implicated in an attempted murder case from 2024, adding a layer of seriousness to the current charges.
