Passers-by who witnessed the accident promptly informed the police. A Police Control Room (PCR) vehicle arrived quickly at the scene and rushed the injured scooterist to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16.

Despite the swift transportation, doctors at GMSH-16 declared Hanif Ahmad dead on arrival. His body has been kept in the hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence.
