Details of the Fatal Collision
The victim, identified as Hanif Ahmad, a resident of Bapudham Colony in Sector 26, was riding his Honda Activa scooter when the accident took place. According to police reports, an e-rickshaw traveling at high speed rammed into Ahmad's scooter near the traffic light intersection of Sectors 27 and 28.
The impact caused Ahmad to fall onto the road, sustaining critical injuries. The e-rickshaw driver immediately fled from the spot without offering any assistance or reporting the incident to authorities.
Emergency Response and Medical Efforts
Passers-by who witnessed the accident promptly informed the police. A Police Control Room (PCR) vehicle arrived quickly at the scene and rushed the injured scooterist to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16.
Despite the swift transportation, doctors at GMSH-16 declared Hanif Ahmad dead on arrival. His body has been kept in the hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather forensic evidence.
