Chennai Head Constable Seriously Injured by Drunk Teen Motorist
A head constable from the Koyambedu police station in Chennai was run over and seriously injured when he attempted to stop a 19-year-old motorist during a vehicle check around midnight on Tuesday. Police identified the injured officer as Head Constable Dhanasekara Pandian, who was conducting routine vehicle inspections in the area. The motorist, Charan Kumar, a resident of Chinmaya Nagar in Koyambedu, was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol. When signaled to stop, Kumar refused to comply and instead accelerated, running over Constable Pandian.
Fellow constables at the scene quickly apprehended the rider, taking him into custody and transporting him to the police station for further investigation. The swift action by his colleagues prevented the suspect from fleeing the scene.

Constable Dhanasekara Pandian sustained serious injuries in the incident and was initially admitted to a private hospital for emergency treatment.
