Three Children Safely Rescued After Lift Malfunction in Thane Building
In a tense incident on Sunday evening, three children were successfully rescued after being trapped in a lift due to a technical malfunction at a Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) building in Kasarvadavali. The event unfolded in the B-wing of a ground-plus-12-storey TMC building located in Kasarvadavali village on Ghodbunder Road in Thane.
Timely Response and Rescue Operation
According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the incident was reported at approximately 7:18 pm from the Ovla Fire Station. The lift had reportedly become stuck at the fourth floor, with the children identified as Sanskrit Shingade (9), Karan Kagda (15), and Rohit Kagda (16) trapped inside.
Fire brigade personnel swiftly responded to the emergency, arriving at the scene with a rescue vehicle and a lift technician. With the crucial assistance of local residents, the team managed to rescue all three children in about 10 minutes. Officials confirmed that no one was injured during the ordeal, and the children were safely evacuated from the malfunctioning lift.
