Coimbatore Gang Apprehended for Attempted Murder in Love Affair Dispute
In a shocking incident in Coimbatore, a gang of four individuals was arrested on Saturday for their involvement in an attempted murder case that occurred near Kovaipudur on Friday night. The Kuniyamuthur police have identified the arrested suspects as M Sanjeev, aged 21, S Azharuddin, aged 23, S Vishnu, aged 22, and B Manoj Kumar, aged 23, all residents of Kuniyamuthur. Authorities have confirmed that two other suspects are currently absconding, and an intensive manhunt is underway to locate them.
Details of the Assault and Motive
According to police reports, the gang brutally assaulted three youths: M Karthik, 21, and M Surya, 20, both from Sundakkamuthur, and S Vishva, 22, from Kuniyamuthur. The investigation has revealed that the root cause of the violence was a personal conflict over a love affair. Specifically, Sanjeev and Vishva were embroiled in a bitter dispute, which escalated when Karthik attempted to mediate and defuse the situation. Enraged by this intervention, Sanjeev orchestrated a plan with his gang to target Vishva and Karthik for murder.
On Friday night, as the three victims were walking near the Mariyamman temple in Kuniyamuthur, the gang ambushed them. During the attack, Vishnu and Manoj used knives to stab Karthik and Vishva on their heads and necks. When Surya tried to intervene and stop the assault, he was also viciously attacked by the assailants.
Rescue and Medical Response
Local residents, alerted by the victims' screams, quickly rushed to the scene to provide assistance. Their timely intervention forced the gang to flee the area. The injured youths were immediately transported to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, where they received urgent medical treatment for their wounds.

Based on a formal complaint filed by Karthik, the police registered a case and swiftly arrested the four gang members involved. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that the investigation is still active, with efforts focused on apprehending the two remaining fugitives and gathering further evidence related to the incident.
