Three Arrested in Coimbatore for Murder Following Drunken Altercation

In a tragic incident near Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district, three people, including a minor in conflict with the law, have been arrested for the murder of their friend. The crime occurred during a drunken brawl on Saturday night, leading to the death of 33-year-old Narayan Hembram, also from Jharkhand.

Details of the Arrest and Investigation

The arrested individuals have been identified as Chote Lal Nag, aged 23, Dinesh Nag, aged 19, and a 15-year-old boy, all hailing from West Singhbhum in Jharkhand. Their victim, Narayan Hembram, was found dead in a vacant plot near Kaniyur on Sunday, prompting a swift police investigation.

According to an officer from the Karumathampatti police station, the investigation revealed that Chote Lal Nag was interested in marrying one of Narayan's relatives. However, Narayan refused the proposal, which led to heightened tensions between them. On Saturday night, an altercation erupted, during which the trio allegedly stabbed Narayan with a knife, resulting in his death.

Legal Proceedings and Custody

All three accused were produced before a court on Monday. The two adult men, Chote Lal Nag and Dinesh Nag, have been remanded to judicial custody, while the minor boy has been sent to an observation home. This case highlights the severe consequences of violent disputes and the legal measures taken to address such crimes.

The police are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence and ensure justice is served. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with alcohol-fueled conflicts and the importance of resolving disputes peacefully.
