Police Act on Tip-Off, Uncover Large Stockpile
Acting on specific intelligence, a special police team first apprehended two suspects near a bakery in Annur. The individuals, identified as M Veeramani, 35, from Pudukkottai, and K Kumar, 42, from Sivaganga, were caught with 200 bottles of brandy allegedly intended for unlawful distribution. During subsequent interrogation, the duo revealed crucial information about a larger cache of alcohol stored at a farmhouse in Kariyampalayam.
Police swiftly raided the specified farmhouse, where they discovered and confiscated approximately 1,002 liters of various alcoholic beverages. The seized stock included a diverse range of spirits such as brandy, rum, beer, and vodka, highlighting the scale of the illegal operation. The primary accused in this case, P Kalimuthu, 48, from Tirupur, was also arrested in connection with the farmhouse storage.
