A 20-year-old college student died after jumping into Sankey Tank in Bengaluru following a phone argument with her boyfriend. Police recovered her body after a search operation.
Incident Details
The incident took place on Monday evening near the High Grounds area. According to the police, the girl had sent a message to her boyfriend before the incident and argued with him for more than half an hour over a phone call. She then jumped into the tank.
Police and fire department personnel launched a search and recovered her body late Monday night. The victim was a second-year degree student at a private college in the city.
Investigation Underway
Senior police officials visited the spot. The body has been sent for postmortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered. Police are questioning the boyfriend and friends to ascertain the exact cause of the dispute.
