A 47-year-old operator of a computer coaching institute in Nawabganj, Kanpur, was found murdered after an apparent robbery on Monday morning. The body of Prakash Chandra Gupta was discovered inside a room of the institute, which he had been running for the past decade near Azad Park in Azad Nagar under the Nawabganj police station area.
Details of the Incident
Prakash, who was unmarried, lived with his elder brother Vikas and sister-in-law, as his parents had passed away. According to police reports, a teacher arriving at the institute in the morning found the door latched from outside. Upon entering, she discovered Prakash's body lying on the floor. She immediately informed nearby residents, who together alerted the authorities.
Vikas, the victim's brother, stated that Prakash had told them he would stay overnight at the coaching institute to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) and planned to return home on Monday. This was the last time they communicated with him.
Police Investigation
Following the murder report, senior police officials including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Dr. Archana Singh, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Chitranshu Gautam arrived at the scene. They were accompanied by Nawabganj police and a forensic team, who collected evidence from the site.
Vikas, who also arrived at the scene upon police notification, reported that Prakash's chain, bracelet, and mobile phone were missing. He further noted that the office had been vandalized, with computers, monitors, and tiles broken. The police have formed three teams to investigate the case and apprehend the culprits.

Authorities are exploring all angles, including robbery and personal enmity. The forensic evidence is being analyzed to identify the perpetrators. The local community has expressed shock over the incident, as Prakash was well-known in the area for his coaching institute.
