Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jha stated that Constable Gulam Murtaza, who hails from Buchi village under Sheeshgarh police station in Bareilly, made a call to the Dial 112 emergency service on March 28 around 9 pm. In his call, Murtaza claimed that cattle were tied at a house in Bareilly for illegal slaughter, prompting immediate police action.
Acting swiftly on the alert, a team from Sheeshgarh police station in Bareilly rushed to the specified location. However, during thorough verification at the scene, the claim was found to be completely baseless and fabricated. No evidence of cow slaughter or any related illegal activity was discovered.
Preliminary Inquiry Reveals Personal Motives
A preliminary inquiry conducted by police authorities uncovered that Constable Gulam Murtaza had deliberately fabricated the tip-off. The investigation revealed that his actions were motivated by local political rivalry and personal disputes, rather than any genuine concern for law enforcement.
