Contractor Arrested for Murder of Tribal Student in Srikakulam After Sexual Assault
In a shocking development, the suspicious death of a 17-year-old tribal girl student in Hiramandalam, Srikakulam district, has been confirmed as a murder. The police have arrested 55-year-old contractor Kalavala Venkateswara Rao for sexually assaulting and killing the minor.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The victim, whose parents are natives of Patha Hiramandalam village and work various odd jobs to make ends meet, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on March 24. The couple had known Rao, a native of S Kota in Vizianagaram district, for approximately seven years. Rao had admitted the girl to a private junior college, building trust with the family over time.
After the completion of her intermediate examinations, Rao took the girl away on March 22 under the false pretext of providing education and improving her English communication skills. This act of deception marked the beginning of the tragic sequence of events.
Police Investigation Unravels the Crime
On March 24, Rao contacted the girl's parents by phone, claiming that she had suffered severe stomach pain, collapsed with bleeding from the nose, and died. He then transported the victim's body in his car and handed it over to the grieving family, who performed the cremation based on this false information.
Following a formal complaint from the victim's parents, the police registered a case and launched a thorough investigation. The probe revealed that Rao had repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl on March 22 and 23 in Visakhapatnam (Vizag). Subsequently, an argument ensued between them, leading Rao to murder the girl. To cover up his heinous crime, he fabricated the story of her death due to ill health.
The police have confirmed the arrest of Kalavala Venkateswara Rao, and further investigation is currently underway to uncover all aspects of this distressing case.
