Contractor Sachin, a resident of Basaveshwar Nagar in Haveri, has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing a woman, police said on Monday. He was taken into custody after a complaint was filed by the victim, who accused him of harassing and following her for several days.
Details of the Allegations
According to the complaint, Sachin, who works as a contractor in the region, began stalking the woman around two weeks ago. He allegedly sent her unwanted messages and followed her to multiple locations, causing her distress. When she confronted him, he threatened to leak her private information, leading to a formal police complaint.
Investigation and Arrest
The Haveri police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal intimidation and stalking.
