Contractual Staffer Dies by Suicide After Job Termination

A 25-year-old contractual nursing staff member, Deepak Charwal, allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison on Friday, reportedly following the termination of his services. Charwal had been working at the Women's Hospital attached to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Medical College for the past three years.

Termination of Services Sparks Concern

The incident came a day after a letter was issued terminating the services of around 200 contractual employees, according to news agency ANI. The sudden move has sparked concerns among workers over job security and financial uncertainty.

A contractual employee, Shyam, pointed to the layoffs as a possible reason behind the distress among workers.

Shyam said, "We were a group of 200 employees who were laid off. Perhaps they took this step because we were working for lower wages... A letter was issued yesterday terminating our services, and I see this as the only reason behind the move."

Separate Incident: JEE Aspirant Found Hanging in Kota
