Couple Arrested for Killing Man Over Affair, Dismembering Body

In a shocking incident, Fatehpur police on Monday arrested a couple identified as Kamta Prasad (30) and his wife Kiran (26), residents of Kurara in Hamirpur district, on charges of murdering a 25-year-old youth named Vijay Nishad, a resident of Fatehpur. The couple confessed to the crime after their arrest, revealing that the slain youth had been having an affair with Kiran for the past eight months. When Kamta discovered the relationship, he confronted Vijay and asked him to end it. Instead, the couple conspired to kill him.

Details of the Crime

According to police, the couple executed a premeditated plan. Kiran called Vijay on May 8, asking him to meet her at their house in Hamirpur. When Vijay arrived, Kiran locked the main gate, trapping him inside. Kamta, who was already present, attacked Vijay repeatedly with a wooden frame, killing him on the spot. The couple then hid the body in a room and attempted to conceal evidence.

Later, they used a saw and grinding machine to cut off Vijay's legs. They packed the remains in a sack and transported the body on a bike to the Reuna forest area in Kanpur district, where they set it on fire. Kamta also discarded the victim's belongings, including his PAN card, ATM card, shoes, and other documents, in the forest. He parked Vijay's bike in an abandoned area near Ghatampur before fleeing.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The victim's father, Indrapal Nishad, a resident of Tikra, lodged a complaint with Bakewar police station in Fatehpur district on May 11, stating that his son had been missing since May 8. He told police that Vijay had left home saying he was going to Hamirpur to meet someone and never returned. The family also informed police about Vijay's relationship with a woman from Hamirpur.

Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and tracked down the couple. During interrogation, they confessed to the murder. Police have recovered the wooden frame used in the attack and other evidence. The couple has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and is currently in police custody.

This case highlights the dangers of extramarital affairs and the extreme lengths to which jealousy can drive individuals. The police have praised the victim's family for their cooperation in solving the case.
