Court Seizes Two KKRTC Buses Over Compensation

In a significant development, two buses belonging to the Aurad depot of the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) were seized on Friday. The seizure was ordered after the corporation allegedly failed to comply with a court directive to pay compensation to the family of an accident victim.

Court Orders Seizure

The seizure was carried out on the instructions of the senior civil judge and JMFC court in Aurad. Following the order, both buses have been parked within the court premises.

Background of the Case

The case stems from a road accident near Kamalnagar on February 28, 2024. A KKRTC bus collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Subsequently, Suvarna, the wife of the deceased Veerabhadra, approached the court seeking compensation.
