The altercation began around 10:30 PM when the customs officer, identified as a superintendent-rank official, was traveling near the airport area. According to police reports, the conflict started over a minor traffic dispute that quickly escalated into physical violence.

What began as a routine traffic disagreement turned violent when the auto driver, later identified as Sahabul Islam, allegedly called for backup. Multiple individuals arrived at the scene and joined in the assault, leaving the customs official with significant injuries.
