Daily Wager Found Dead in Bathinda Market Corridor with Rodent Bite Marks

In a tragic incident in Bathinda, a 30-year-old daily wager was discovered dead in a market corridor near the railway station on Tuesday morning. The body showed multiple rodent bite marks on the face and eyes, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Details of the Incident and Police Response

Police officials have stated that the exact cause of death will only be determined after a thorough postmortem examination. The man, who typically slept in the 'pata' market corridor alongside other labourers, was alone on Monday night, according to initial reports.

Sonu Maheshwari, president of the NGO Naujawan Welfare Society, revealed that the deceased had been unwell for several days prior to the incident. Society members Aakash Garg and Saksham Maheshwari were the ones who alerted the police after finding the body.

Challenges in Identification and Ongoing Investigation

As no identity documents were recovered from the scene, the body has been placed in the mortuary for identification purposes. The police have initiated inquest proceedings to gather more information and piece together the events leading up to the death.

This case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by daily wage workers, especially those without stable housing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
