Additionally, the lucrative extortion and land-grab rackets flourishing in the region provide significant financial incentives for this criminal revival.
A Decade-Long Saga of Violence and Betrayal
The bloody conflict between Jitender Gogi and Sunil "Tillu" Tajpuria represents a tragic transformation of teenage friendship into a decade of carnage. The two grew up as close companions in neighboring Outer Delhi villages of Alipur and Tajpur Kalan, bonding over volleyball and wrestling. Their relationship shattered during 2010 student union elections at Swami Shraddhanand College over disputes involving votes and a romantic interest.
From this academic rivalry emerged full-fledged gang warfare. The first fatal violence occurred in January 2015 when Gogi's gang murdered Tajpuria's close associate Deepak. Retaliation followed the next month with Tajpuria's gang killing Gogi's friend Arun Commando. Despite Gogi's 2016 arrest and subsequent escape from custody, the killings continued unabated.
