Delhi Police Busts 2 Illegal Arms Syndicates, 6 Held

New Delhi: The special cell of Delhi Police has dismantled two interstate illegal arms supply syndicates and apprehended six alleged traffickers involved in supplying weapons to gangsters across Delhi-NCR. Investigators revealed that the firearms were sourced from Madhya Pradesh and provided to criminals linked to the Manjeet Mahal, Gogi, and Randeep Bhati gangs.

Police seized 26 illegal semi-automatic pistols, eight live cartridges, six mobile phones and SIM cards, and three vehicles allegedly used for transporting the weapons.

The accused have been identified as Ravi Kumar (38), Sunil Tanwar (33), Yogesh (32), Rajat alias Rajju (27), Saurabh (27), and Nikhil (21).

According to police, Ravi and Sunil were arrested near a hospital in Tahirpur on May 22 with 15 illegal firearms. Their interrogation led the team to Yogesh, who was arrested in Dwarka with four pistols and five live cartridges, and subsequently to Rajat and Saurabh, who were apprehended in Laxmi Nagar with pistols and ammunition.

Nikhil was arrested in Rohini while allegedly attempting to deliver a consignment of illegal firearms. Five pistols were recovered from him.

Police stated that the syndicates had been active for several years, procuring weapons from suppliers in Burhanpur and Khargone in Madhya Pradesh before distributing them to criminals in Delhi-NCR.

All six accused have criminal records. Rajat has 19 previous cases against him, Saurabh 17, Sunil 14, Yogesh and Nikhil four each, while Ravi was previously involved in a murder case registered in Delhi.
