Delhi Police Head Constable Arrested Following Girlfriend's Tragic Suicide in Noida

A Delhi Police head constable has been taken into custody after his girlfriend allegedly used his service pistol to take her own life at a residential flat in Greater Noida West. The tragic incident occurred late on Thursday night, following a heated argument that was reportedly sparked by a phone call from the constable's wife.

Woman Succumbs to Injuries After Self-Inflicted Gunshot

The 34-year-old woman, identified as Priya Singh, succumbed to her injuries late on Friday. Police officials were first alerted about a woman with a bullet injury when she was brought to Yatharth Hospital for emergency treatment. A swift response team from the Bisrakh police station immediately rushed to the hospital to investigate the matter.

"A team from Bisrakh police station rushed to Yatharth. The woman was identified as Priya Singh, a 34-year-old resident of Gaur Saundaryam," stated a senior police officer involved in the case.

Constable Taken Into Custody After Initial Investigation

During the preliminary inquiry, police discovered that a man named Ashish Pawar had brought the injured woman to the hospital. "Teams were formed and, with the help of technical surveillance, Ashish was taken into custody," the officer confirmed. Pawar later revealed to investigators that he was posted as a head constable with the Delhi Police force.

According to police statements, Pawar disclosed that he was married but had applied for divorce. He had been in a relationship with Priya Singh for approximately five years, and the couple had been living together for the past three months at Gaur Saundaryam.

Party Gathering Precedes Tragic Incident

Police investigation revealed that trouble began when Pawar and Priya attended a party at a friend's residence in Radha Sky Garden on Thursday evening. "A total of four persons were at the party, including the constable and his girlfriend. They all consumed liquor. This was confirmed when a team visited the spot and found bottles on the table," the officer explained to reporters.

The situation took a dramatic turn during the gathering when Pawar received a phone call from his wife. This call reportedly infuriated Priya, leading to a serious argument between the couple. Following the confrontation, Priya returned to their flat and allegedly used Pawar's licensed service pistol to shoot herself.

Constable Attempts to Flee Before Arrest

After the shooting incident, Pawar rushed the critically injured woman to the hospital but then attempted to flee the scene. Police officials managed to trace and apprehend him through coordinated efforts. "After the incident, Pawar rushed the woman to hospital and tried to flee the scene. But we managed to trace him down," the investigating officer stated.

Family Alleges Deception and Pressure

According to police reports, Priya Singh worked as a property dealer and was aware of Pawar's marital status. Her family members were informed about the tragic incident and subsequently filed a formal written complaint, which initiated the official investigation.

The family has alleged that Pawar deceived Priya about his actual marital situation and pressured her into taking the extreme step. Police have registered a case against Pawar, who is posted at Kalindi Kunj police station, under charges of abetment of suicide and relevant provisions of the Arms Act, along with other applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence and statements from all parties involved in this heartbreaking case that has shocked the Noida community.
