Delhi Police Intensifies Crackdown on Drug Trafficking Networks

In a significant enforcement action, Delhi Police has frozen assets valued at around Rs 1 crore, which were allegedly acquired illegally by suspected drug traffickers. This move marks a robust effort to dismantle the financial infrastructure supporting narcotics operations in the capital.

Major Heroin Case Leads to Asset Freeze

One of the key cases involved three individuals—Deepak, Vikram, and Tushar—who were apprehended with 320 grams of heroin. These suspects had extensive criminal records, prompting a thorough financial investigation into their activities. As a result, authorities froze assets totaling Rs 7.6 lakh, believed to be proceeds from their illicit drug trade.

Anti-Narcotics Task Force Targets Psychotropic Substance Syndicate

In a separate operation, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) focused on a syndicate involved in distributing psychotropic substances. Six accused, including Vikash, Sudhir, and Vijay Goel, were arrested following the recovery of tablets such as Tramadol, Alprazolam, and Nitrazepam. A subsequent financial probe identified properties worth over Rs 60 lakh, which were allegedly purchased using drug money, leading to their freezing.

Authorities Vow to Escalate Anti-Drug Efforts

Deputy Commissioner of Police (ANTF) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav emphasized the commitment to combating drug trafficking, stating, "The action against drug traffickers will be intensified in the coming days." This statement underscores the police's determination to not only arrest offenders but also cripple their financial gains through asset seizures.

The crackdown highlights Delhi Police's multi-pronged strategy, combining arrests with financial investigations to effectively disrupt drug networks and deter future criminal activities.
