Major Breakthrough in International Shooting Case

In a significant development that spans international borders, the Delhi Police crime branch has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting the alleged main conspirator behind multiple shootings targeting comedian Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Surrey, Canada.

The crime branch team, operating under the leadership of DCP Sanjeev Yadav, successfully apprehended Bandhu Maan Singh Shekhon, identified as a key member of the notorious Goldy Dhillon gang. During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered a Chinese PX-3 pistol from the suspect.

Series of Violent Incidents at Kap's Cafe

The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of violence targeting Kap's Cafe, which experienced its third shooting incident in October this year. This latest attack occurred barely two weeks after the establishment had reopened following two previous shooting incidents.

The most recent shooting in October marked the third such violent episode since July, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty around the popular dining spot. Following this incident, local authorities in Canada positioned a police vehicle and mobile CCTV station outside the cafe, with Surrey Police assuring enhanced security measures.

In a concerning development from August, approximately 9-10 shots were fired at Kap's Cafe, with at least six bullets striking the walls and windows of the restaurant. The situation escalated further when assailants hurled Molotov cocktails at the establishment while employees were present inside.

Gang Claims and Social Media Threats

The responsibility for these violent acts was claimed by Goldy Dhillon and Kulvir Sidhu, both associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang escalated their intimidation tactics by releasing an actual video of the shooting incident, which clearly showed individuals firing multiple shots from inside a vehicle using an automatic pistol.

A social media post claiming responsibility for the attacks revealed that the gangsters were motivated by alleged anti-religious sentiments expressed by Bollywood personalities. The post contained explicit warnings about potential future attacks, indicating the group's intention to continue their violent campaign.

The gang members claimed they had attempted to contact Sharma directly but received no response, prompting them to take violent action. Their social media communication included a specific threat that their next operation would target Mumbai.

The first incident in this series occurred on July 9, when a shooter wearing a body camera recorded the entire attack on Kap's Cafe. This particular shooting was claimed by Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, who stated it was retribution for comments reportedly made on Sharma's television show in the past.

Restaurant Background and Police Confirmation

Kap's Cafe represented comedian Kapil Sharma's first international restaurant venture, having been inaugurated earlier this summer. The establishment quickly became a popular destination before becoming the target of these coordinated attacks.

Special CP Devesh Srivastava officially confirmed these developments, highlighting the successful cross-border cooperation in tackling international criminal networks. The arrest demonstrates Delhi Police's commitment to addressing crimes with international connections and protecting Indian interests abroad.

Multiple residents in the Surrey area had contacted local police control around 4:30 am after hearing gunshots, prompting the dispatch of several police units to secure the area and investigate the incidents.
