Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory for DDU Marg Restrictions on Monday
In anticipation of an inauguration program at DDU Marg, the Delhi Traffic Police has released a detailed advisory outlining expected traffic restrictions for Monday. The event marks the opening of the new Central Office of Sanskrit Bharati, a significant cultural organization, scheduled to commence at 7 am.
Event Details and Expected Congestion
The inauguration is projected to draw approximately 1,500 attendees, including various dignitaries, which may lead to substantial traffic congestion on DDU Marg and adjacent stretches. Heavy vehicles could face restrictions depending on real-time traffic conditions, as authorities aim to manage flow and ensure safety.
Specific Route Closures and Timings
Commuters are strongly advised to avoid DDU Marg from ITO to Minto Road on both carriageways, as well as Vishnu Digambar Marg, between the hours of 6 am and 4 pm. This proactive measure is intended to minimize disruptions and facilitate smooth movement for event participants and general traffic alike.
Alternate Routes for Key Destinations
For those traveling towards New Delhi Railway Station, the Delhi Traffic Police has suggested several alternate routes to bypass the affected areas:
- Vehicles originating from ITO can utilize the Outer Circle, proceed towards Chelmsford Road, and then access the station area.
- Commuters approaching via BSZ Marg have multiple options: they can take Kotla Cut, navigate through Mata Sundari Lane, continue to Mirdard Chowk, and merge onto Minto Road. Alternatively, they can go via Delhi Gate Chowk, take JLN Marg, and then join Minto Road towards the station.
General Commuter Advice
To mitigate potential delays, commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, allocate extra travel time, and adhere to directions provided by on-duty traffic personnel. Staying informed through official channels for real-time updates is also recommended to navigate the area efficiently during the event period.
