A 23-year-old delivery executive was discovered murdered, his body stuffed inside an iron trunk in a slum located in Sector 54, Gurgaon, police confirmed on Sunday. The victim, identified as Aman, hailed from Saharsa in Bihar and had been residing in the area with his live-in partner.
Discovery of the Crime
The crime came to light after a foul odor began emanating from the shanty. Police from Sector 53 police station arrived at the scene and recovered the body from the trunk. A preliminary examination revealed multiple deep injuries inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. Investigators suspect the murder occurred three to four days before the body was found.
Complaint and Investigation
Aman's elder brother, Umashankar, who lives in Chakkarpur, filed a complaint. He informed police that around 6pm on Sunday, he received a call from a woman who claimed her friend had killed Aman and concealed his body in the trunk. Upon receiving this information, he rushed to the shanty and alerted authorities. An FIR has been registered. Police stated that Aman had been living in the area for the past one to one-and-a-half years.
According to sources, police are questioning the woman, while teams are searching for another individual believed to be involved in the incident. The mobile number used to make the call is also being analyzed.
Autopsy and Motive
“The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Multiple injury marks have been found, indicating use of a sharp weapon. The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the autopsy,” a police officer said. Police indicated that efforts are underway to determine the motive behind the murder.
