Delivery Worker in Delhi Allegedly Stabs Minor Girl Before Dying in Suspected Cylinder Blast
In a shocking sequence of events in east Delhi, a 24-year-old delivery worker allegedly stabbed a minor girl multiple times on Friday evening, leaving her critically injured, before later dying in a suspected cylinder blast at his residence. Police have confirmed the two incidents are linked, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.
Violent Attack on Minor Girl in Seemapuri
According to police reports, the incident began with a PCR call received at the Seemapuri police station at 5:33 p.m. The call reported that a girl had been stabbed and was lying unconscious with multiple injuries in Ravidas Mandir Wali Gali in Old Seemapuri. A police team immediately rushed to the location, but the injured victim had already been shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for emergency treatment.
At the hospital, doctors declared the victim, identified as a minor girl, unfit to provide a statement due to the severity of her injuries. She remains in critical condition, with medical personnel working to stabilize her. Police have registered a case under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on the initial PCR call, medico-legal findings, and evidence collected from the crime scene.
Accused Identified as Delivery Executive and Neighbor
The accused has been identified as a 24-year-old delivery executive working for an e-commerce platform. He lived with his mother in New Seemapuri, and police have stated that he and the minor girl were neighbors. Preliminary investigations suggest that a dispute between them allegedly preceded the violent attack, though the exact nature of the disagreement is still under scrutiny by authorities.
Suspected Cylinder Blast Claims Accused's Life Hours Later
While police were actively investigating the stabbing incident, another PCR call was received at 6:10 p.m. regarding a cylinder blast at a house in New Seemapuri. Upon reaching the scene, officers found a fire had broken out following the blast. Inside the residence, they discovered the same 24-year-old man, who was alone at the time. His mother was not present during the incident.
The man suffered severe burn injuries and was promptly taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. During the inquiry, police established a direct link between the two incidents, noting that the accused in the stabbing case was the victim of the blast.
Police Probe: Accident or Deliberate Act?
Authorities are currently examining whether the cylinder blast was accidental or deliberate. Key evidence includes a lighter allegedly found near the body, along with the fact that the doors and windows of the house were shut at the time of the blast. Police officials have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with forensic teams and experts working to piece together the events leading to both the stabbing and the fatal explosion.
The case has drawn significant attention in the Seemapuri area, highlighting concerns over neighborhood disputes and safety protocols. As the minor girl fights for her life in the hospital, police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward to aid in the investigation.
