Hyderabad: Telangana deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday directed the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to immediately resume medical board services, which had been temporarily suspended for various reasons. He instructed officials to conduct the medical board selection process with complete transparency and zero controversy.
Workers' Concerns Addressed
Vikramarka recalled that during a recent review meeting on Singareni's development with ministers and legislators from the coal belt region, public representatives had brought the workers' anxieties regarding the suspended medical board to his notice. The deputy chief minister emphasized the importance of addressing these concerns promptly.
Record Profit-Sharing Bonuses
Vikramarka highlighted that the government had distributed the highest-ever profit-sharing bonus in Singareni's history, disbursing ₹1,500 crore over the last two years. Breaking past precedents, contract workers were given a profit bonus of ₹5,000 each for 2023-24, which was increased to ₹5,500 each for 2024-25, he added.
Expansion and Employment Plans
The deputy chief minister stated that the government is working on a multi-pronged expansion plan for SCCL to secure new coal blocks and generate further employment opportunities for the youth. This initiative aims to strengthen the company's operations and boost the regional economy.
