DGP Honors PAC on Foundation Day, Awards Top Battalions

On Wednesday, the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) celebrated its Foundation Day with a ceremony highlighting its legacy and honoring its top performers. The Director General of Police, Rajeev Krishna, delivered a powerful address, framing the force not just as a security unit but as an enduring symbol of service.

DGP Hails PAC's Role in UP's Transformation

Addressing the gathered personnel, DGP Rajeev Krishna described the PAC as a living tradition of discipline, courage, and national service. He emphasized that for decades, the force has been at the forefront of protecting the state's internal security and democratic institutions.

Krishna detailed the multifaceted roles of the PAC, which include maintaining law and order, managing disasters, providing VVIP security, and safeguarding sensitive religious events. He directly linked the force's work to the state's current progress. "UP is steadily emerging as a state defined by the rule of law, swift justice, and a secure environment. The contribution of the PAC in this transformation is extremely significant," the DGP stated.

He also credited the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for enhancing the state's disaster response capabilities. Under this leadership, six fully equipped companies of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were made operational, creating a vital lifeline for saving lives during emergencies.

The Foundation Day celebrations featured various competitions, with the top-performing battalions receiving prestigious titles. The 47th Battalion was awarded the Sarvottam Battalion title, the highest honor. The 39th Battalion was named Ati-Uttam Battalion, and the 32nd Battalion received the Uttam Battalion award.

A Legacy of Service and Discipline

The awards and the DGP's speech underscored the PAC's critical function within Uttar Pradesh's security architecture. By honoring excellence in drills, disaster response, and general duties, the event reinforced the values of discipline and readiness that the force embodies.

The Foundation Day served as both a recognition of past service and a reaffirmation of the PAC's role in maintaining the state's hard-earned security and lawful environment. The ceremony concluded on a note of pride, celebrating the men and women who form this "living tradition" of courage and commitment to public safety.
