Young Domestic Worker Found Dead in Employer's Home

A 21-year-old domestic helper was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances late Friday night in West Champaran district, sending shockwaves through the local community. The tragic incident occurred at the residence of her employer in Khairwa Tola, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhitaha police station.

Victim Identified as Uttar Pradesh Resident

The deceased has been identified as Nitu Kumari, who originally hailed from Nebua Naurangia village in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district. According to preliminary information, the young woman had been employed at the household of Kiran Singh, the mukhiya of Khairwa panchayat, for approximately four months before her untimely death.

Police reports indicate that Nitu was found hanging inside her room around 10 pm on Friday night. The discovery was made within the employer's residence where she both worked and lived, raising immediate questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.

Family's Tragic Discovery

The victim's father, Ayodhya Sahni, received devastating news about his daughter on Saturday morning. He recounted that he was informed that his daughter's condition had deteriorated significantly. When he rushed to the mukhiya's house, he was confronted with the heartbreaking reality that his daughter had already passed away.

In a tragic twist to the story, Sahni revealed that his daughter's marriage was in the final stages of being arranged, making her sudden death even more shocking for the family. The grieving father expressed confusion about what could have driven his daughter to take such an extreme step, stating he had no knowledge of any reasons that might have led to this tragedy.

Police Investigation Underway

Bhitaha Station House Officer Abhilash Kumar confirmed that the young woman's body was discovered under mysterious circumstances that warrant thorough investigation. The police official stated that the body has been sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

"Only after the arrival of the postmortem report will it become clear whether this was a suicide case or something more sinister," SHO Kumar stated. He emphasized that police are currently investigating all possible angles and treating the case as highly suspicious given the unclear circumstances.

Local residents have suggested that Nitu died by suicide, though police authorities are not ruling out any possibilities at this early stage of investigation. Notably, the family of the deceased has not yet filed a First Information Report (FIR), adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing probe.

Police authorities have assured that the investigation will continue to explore every aspect of the case, with the postmortem report expected to provide crucial evidence about the actual events leading to the young domestic worker's tragic death.
