The police have emphasized that the driver was alone in the car and no other vehicles were involved in the accident. The case highlights ongoing concerns about drunk driving in the region, particularly on busy ghat sections like Katraj.

Broader Implications and Safety Concerns

This incident underscores the dangers of drunk driving, not only to pedestrians but also to law enforcement personnel on duty. The old Katraj ghat section is a critical route, and such accidents pose significant risks to public safety.

Authorities are urging drivers to adhere to traffic rules and avoid driving under the influence. The police have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against violators to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

As investigations continue, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the injured pedestrian and addressing the damage caused to public property. The community is reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious driving behavior to the police immediately.
