Panchayat's Response
Dileshwar Naik, panch of Nagoa panchayat, expressed concern over the rising number of stray cattle on roads. He stated, “The panchayat has taken steps to control the movement of stray cattle on roads. We have impounded several of them but there are too many. We have now identified a location to construct a cow shed.” He also mentioned that the panchayat has a dedicated team to handle the issue.
Call for Responsibility
Naik emphasized that while impounding cattle is necessary, cattle owners must also act responsibly. “Cattle on roads are the cause of accidents, especially during the night,” he told TOI. The panchayat continues to work on long-term solutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
