A drunk truck driver caused significant damage by ramming his vehicle into four different cars on the Jabalpur highway near Pipla Fata on Sunday night. The incident resulted in losses amounting to lakhs of rupees, though no injuries were reported.
Sequence of Events
The truck driver, identified as Surendra Tiwari, 32, a resident of Malegaon, Ramtek, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Around 8:30 PM, the truck collided head-on with a car driven by retired police sub-inspector Manoharrao Ramaji Chachane, 68, from Hudkeshwar. Following the initial collision, the truck struck the car of Ravi Bhoyar from behind before fleeing the scene. Approximately one kilometer ahead, the truck hit Harshal Jayswal's car and another vehicle.
Police Response
Chachane immediately informed his son and the police control room. Officers from Hudkeshwar police station rushed to the spot, arrested Tiwari, and seized the truck. A case of accident has been registered against the driver.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged citizens to report any such reckless driving incidents. The damaged vehicles have been taken for assessment, and further legal proceedings are underway.
