Dumka Father Arrested for Killing 10-Year-Old Son in Domestic Violence Incident
In a tragic incident in Dumka district, a man was arrested for allegedly murdering his 10-year-old son during a violent domestic dispute. The event occurred late on Wednesday in Sadhudih village, located within the Ramgarh block, shocking the local community.
Details of the Arrest and Investigation
The accused, identified as Sanjay Kamti, a resident of Sadhudih village, has been forwarded to judicial custody following his arrest. According to police reports, the murder weapon was recovered at the scene, providing crucial evidence in the case.
Manish Kumar, the officer-in-charge of Ramgarh police station, stated that the incident unfolded after Sanjay engaged in a heated argument with his wife, Pooja Devi, on Wednesday evening. As tensions escalated, Sanjay attempted to attack Pooja with a sharp weapon.
The Tragic Intervention and Aftermath
In a heartbreaking turn of events, the couple's 10-year-old son, Kushal Kumar, intervened in an effort to pacify his father. Enraged by this, Sanjay turned his aggression towards the child, attacking Kushal and causing his immediate death on the spot.
Notably, this was not the first instance of domestic strife in the household. Pooja Devi had previously filed a police complaint against Sanjay on March 17. On the day of the incident, police had mediated between the couple earlier, but the dispute reignited, leading to the fatal outcome.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, emphasizing the severity of domestic violence and its devastating impacts on families. This case highlights ongoing concerns about such conflicts in rural areas, urging for stronger preventive measures and community awareness.
