E-Rickshaw Driver Dies in Family Dispute Knife Injury

A 31-year-old e-rickshaw driver died under suspicious circumstances after sustaining a knife injury on his thigh during a family dispute in the Dwarkapuri area on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Harish Kadam, a resident of North Mohalla.

Incident Details

According to Dwarkapuri police, an altercation broke out among family members at their residence earlier in the day. During the dispute, Harish sustained a knife injury. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivendu Joshi stated that it is not yet clear whether the knife wound was self-inflicted or inflicted by his brother, wife, or another family member. “We are waiting for the autopsy report, following which things will become clear,” Joshi said.

Family Allegations

Following the incident, Harish’s wife, Sheetal, arrived at the police station with their three children and alleged that Harish’s younger brother, Pau; another relative, Kalli; and his mother, Pushpa, were involved in the incident. Harish was rushed to MY Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Police Investigation

Police are recording statements from Sheetal and other family members. Residents of the locality reported that Harish had gone to work when his wife allegedly called him and informed him about a dispute at home. He returned home following the call. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause and nature of the injury.
