ED Conducts Fresh Raids on Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora's Associates
ED Raids Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora's Associates Again

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted fresh raids at multiple locations linked to Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora and his associates as part of a money laundering investigation. The searches were carried out in Ludhiana and other parts of Punjab, officials said.

Details of the Raids

The ED teams swooped down on several premises, including the residence and offices of the minister's close aides. The action is part of an ongoing probe into alleged illegal sand mining and other financial irregularities. Sources said the agency is examining documents and digital evidence seized during the operation.

Previous Actions

This is not the first time the ED has targeted Arora's network. In October 2023, the agency had conducted similar raids in connection with a case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The minister has denied any wrongdoing, calling the raids politically motivated.

The ED's investigation stems from multiple FIRs filed by the Punjab Police regarding illegal sand mining and extortion. The agency suspects that proceeds from these crimes were laundered through shell companies and real estate investments.

Reacting to the raids, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the central government of misusing investigative agencies to harass its leaders. However, the BJP dismissed the allegations, stating that the ED is acting independently.

The raids are ongoing, and further details are awaited as the ED continues its search operations.
